SALISBURY, N.C. (Oct. 27, 2025) — Three suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Hickory were arrested early Monday morning following a multi-agency vehicle pursuit that began in Iredell County and ended in Rowan County, authorities said.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were alerted around 4:56 a.m. to a stolen vehicle entering Salisbury from Iredell County on Statesville Boulevard. The vehicle and its occupants were identified as suspects in a Hickory armed robbery that had occurred earlier in the morning.
Deputies located the vehicle near Jake Alexander Boulevard and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit that wound through the parking lot of the Rowan Community Center before continuing west on Statesville Boulevard.
The chase ended when the suspects attempted to turn onto Kepley Road, lost control of the vehicle due to high speeds and wet road conditions, and crashed into a ditch, officials said.
Three suspects jumped from the vehicle and ran into nearby woods, while the front-seat passenger stayed inside and was immediately taken into custody. Deputies, assisted by K-9 units, quickly located and arrested two of the fleeing suspects without incident. The fourth suspect remains at large, the sheriff’s office said.
Officers from the Salisbury Police Department, Cleveland Police Department, and Iredell County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist in the search.
The three suspects in custody were transported to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and later turned over to Hickory Police Department investigators. Rowan County authorities said additional charges — including felony fleeing to elude arrest and resisting a public officer — are pending.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to assist in the ongoing investigation.
