Salisbury Man Arrested in October Shooting on West Horah Street

SALISBURY, N.C. — A 25-year-old Salisbury man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place last month in the 1100 block of West Horah Street, police said.

 

According to the Salisbury Police Department, the shooting happened on Oct. 4. Investigators identified the suspect as Messiah Swindell following the incident and issued warrants for his arrest. Swindell was taken into custody on Nov. 5 and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury .

 

Police officials said community tips helped lead to Swindell’s arrest . He is being held without bond at the Rowan County Detention Center pending his next court appearance .

 

Authorities have not released additional details about the victim or a potential motive. The investigation remains active, and anyone with information is asked to contact Salisbury Police or Rowan County Crime Stoppers.
